Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor?

No, you do not need a referral to see a chiropractor. Chiropractors are primary care professionals. Patients can make an appointment directly with us at Logan Chiropractic & Wellness without the need for a referral from a doctor or another healthcare professional.

However if you are booking in for a bulk billed (Medicare – GPCCMP/EPC) session you require a referral letter from your GP, for more information on Bulk Billing.

Do you take private health insurance?

Yes, we do accept private health insurance. We work with a variety of private health insurance providers. Since your health fund cover is tailored personally we are unable to say exactly how much your fund will cover for your appointment.

There are a couple of ways to find out should you want to know prior to visiting us for your appointment what your health fund will be covering for your appointment. You can contact your health fund with the initial appointment specific chiropractic code (1002) and regular (1005) or you can visit us in the clinic and we can do a manual quote through our HICAPS machine for you.

We work with all private health funds that cover Chiropractic services.

Why should I see a Chiropractor?

There are several reasons for you to see a Chiropractor for pain relief, improved mobility, injury recovery, and more. Chiropractic is commonly sought for various musculoskeletal issues like back pain, neck pain, headaches, joint/ nerve problems and extremities complaints (including shoulders, knees and more).

Who can have chiropractic care? Any age limit?

Chiropractic care is suitable for people of all ages, from newborns to individuals in their 90s. Techniques are always adapted to each person’s age, body, and health needs. At our clinic, Dr. Tash Logan regularly supports a wide range of patients, from young children to her eldest patient of 92, helping with posture, mobility, and musculoskeletal concerns through gentle, tailored care.

What conditions do chiropractors treat?

Chiropractors primarily focus on musculoskeletal issues and conditions related to the spine, upper and lower limbs. Some of the common conditions that chiropractors treat include: neck pain, headaches, lower back pain, joint pain and stiffness, disc pain, sports injuries, soft tissue injuries, sciatica, posture related problems and repetitive strain injuries.

What to expect for my first initial visit at Logan Chiropractic & Wellness?

At your initial visit, Dr. Tash Logan will begin with a thorough history to understand your concern, followed by a detailed physical assessment, including muscle testing, range of motion, weight imbalance in body and posture picture analysis. This will help to determine an accurate diagnosis. Using the findings from both the history and examination, she will explain what is happening, provide a clear diagnosis, and create a personalised treatment plan tailored to your recovery or ongoing wellness.

If further investigation is needed, Dr. Logan can refer you for bulk-billed X-rays or other imaging such as MRI or CT to gain a deeper understanding of any structural issues.

In most cases, you will also receive your first treatment during this initial visit. Treatment will only be postponed in rare situations where it is clinically unsuitable.

What are the joint cracks or pops caused by?

During a chiropractic adjustment, a controlled and gentle force is applied to a specific joint to help improve its movement. This may create a popping sound, similar to cracking your knuckles. The sound is simply the release of gas bubbles within the joint space — a normal and harmless response to the change in pressure.

Does a chiropractic adjustment hurt?

Chiropractic adjustments are generally not painful, though sensations can vary from person to person. You might feel some pressure or mild discomfort as the chiropractor applies force to adjust your joints. Most people find relief from discomfort after the adjustment. There are other ways to do a gentle adjustment such as mobilisations, instrument adjustments and drop piece. It's essential to communicate any concerns or discomfort you feel during the session with your chiropractor so they can adjust their technique or approach accordingly.

After your first session of chiropractic care you may feel tenderness for a few days after which is completely normal for new patients. This is due to the adjustments that have been made which activates muscle groups which aren’t usually used. We recommend applying ice to the area which will aid muscle recovery.

What else do you do besides chiropractic adjustment?
