Here's what you can expect during your first chiropractic visit.

Warm Welcome and Consultation

When you arrive, you'll be welcomed by your friendly team and Dr Tash Logan (Chiropractor, Joondalup) guided through any necessary paperwork.

Your appointment will begin with a thorough consultation where we'll take the time to understand your health history, current concerns and wellness goals. If you may need further investigations such as x-rays, MRI, CT scan or ultrasound- Logan Chiropractic and Wellness (Joondalup) has well reputable imaging clinics nearby. In the case you may need to be referred to another health care practitioner, then Dr Tash Logan will send you in the right direction- such as a general practitioner, podiatrist, physiotherapist, orthopedic surgeon, dentist, or any other health care professional that you may require.

We may discuss:

  • Your current symptoms and history of this issue
  • Previous injuries, accidents, or surgeries
  • Your work and daily activities
  • Sleep patterns and posture
  • Exercise and lifestyle habits
  • Current medications
  • Your short-term and long-term health goals

This conversation helps us gain a complete understanding of your health and allows us to create a personalised approach to your care here at Logan Chiropractic and Wellness in Joondalup.

Thorough Examination

Following your consultation, we'll conduct a detailed examination to assess your spinal health, movement patterns, and overall function. Depending on your individual needs, this may include:

Range of Motion Testing

During your range of motion testing- Dr Tash Logan will assess your neck, mid back and lower back range of motion. For the neck this includes looking over both shoulder’s, bringing one ear to each shoulder, looking down at your chest and looking up to the ceiling. With your lower back you will rotate both sides. And with the lower back you will go as far as you can to your toes, then lean back to check any pressure in the lower back.

Orthopaedic and Neurological Testing

These tests help assess how your muscles, joints, and nervous system are functioning and can provide valuable information about the source of your discomfort and wellness. When assessing orthopaedic and neurological tests this will allow Dr Tash Logan (chiropractor) to rule out anything sinister that is not within the scope of chiropractic care.

Chiropractic Examination

Dr Tash Logan will assess spinal movement and joint function to identify areas that may benefit from treatment. Neuro Organisational Technique and Neuro Emotional Technique will be apart of the initial consultation to identify any other underlying causes of your symptoms which in turn is affecting your wellness. Inflammation stems from physical stresses (sitting prolonged periods, or doing a squat at the gym), emotional stress (anxiety, stress), chemical (sugar, alcohol, smoking).

The examination process is designed to provide a clear picture of your overall nervous system and musculoskeletal health. This will allow Dr Tash Logan (Logan Chiropractic and Wellness- Joondalup) a guide the most appropriate chiropractic treatment recommendations.

Posture Picture

A posture picture will be taken on your initial consultation. A front and side camera photo will be taken. This will go through a posture analysis programme where it will show the imbalances on the front and side views of your body. Poor posture can place unnecessary stress on muscles, joints, and the spine. We'll assess your posture to identify any imbalances that may be contributing to your symptoms.

Diagnostic Imaging (If Required)

In some situations, additional imaging such as X-rays, MRI, CT, Ultrasound may be recommended.

It can be useful to:

  • Rule out any underlying causes of your pain and symptoms
  • There is a history of trauma or injury
  • Symptoms are severe or persistent
  • Further investigation is required
  • Certain underlying conditions are suspected

If imaging is recommended, we'll explain why and discuss the next steps with you.

Understanding Your Results

Once your assessment is complete, we'll explain our findings in clear, easy-to-understand language.

We'll discuss:

  • What may be causing your symptoms
  • Areas of concern identified during the examination
  • How chiropractic care may help
  • Recommended treatment options
  • Expected outcomes and recovery timelines

At Logan Chiropractic & Wellness- Joondalup, we believe that informed patients make confident healthcare decisions. We'll always take the time to answer your questions and ensure you understand your treatment options.

Your First Chiropractic Adjustment

If appropriate, you may receive your first chiropractic adjustment during your initial visit.

Chiropractic adjustments involve gentle, precise techniques designed to improve joint mobility, reduce tension, and support the body's natural healing processes.

Many patients experience:

  • Improved movement
  • Reduced muscle tension
  • Greater comfort
  • Increased flexibility

While some patients notice immediate improvements, others experience gradual changes over a series of treatments depending on their condition and health goals.

Ongoing Advice and Support

Your health extends beyond the treatment room.

To support your recovery and long-term wellbeing, Dr Tash Logan (Chiropractor) may provide practical recommendations tailored to your lifestyle.

These may include:

  • Stretching and strengthening exercises
  • Postural advice
  • Workplace ergonomic recommendations
  • Activity modifications
  • Wellness and lifestyle strategies

These simple changes can often play an important role in achieving lasting results for your spine and wellness.

Your Report of Findings

Finally, we'll schedule your report of findings to discuss the assessments such as your spinal range of motion, imbalances in the body, posture picture, neurological/ orthopaedic testing and scans such as xray-s/ MRI/ CT/ Ultrasound. This will give you a clear understanding of how your body is functioning and what we need to improve and correct your overall wellness and spinal health. After this Dr Tash Logan (chiropractor), will look into an appropriate treatment plan for your individual needs and wellness goals.
